An artist's creations says something about the world. The way a work provides meaning is a process of stabilization. Through the eyes of the artist, in the vision of the work, the world appears structured, whole and meaningful. This does the work of Grand Narratives. The lack of grand narratives allows everything to be supermeaningful. Like the line in the bible about Hercules chopping off the head of John the Baptist and 5o more heads sprout in its place.
